I offer weekly lessons in 55-min and 40-min formats. All lessons are taught in-person at Piedmont Piano Company in Oakland, CA (1728 San Pablo Ave).
All lessons are prepaid; the rate per lesson is based on how many lessons are booked.
Rates
How to book
When requesting lessons, please send me:
your desired lesson duration,
your preferred and alternate time slots (include day of week and start time),
the quantity of lessons you’d like to book,
and any planned exceptions.
I will reply with an invoice listing the dates and times of the lessons to be booked. Payment is due on receipt.
Once paid, no refunds will be given for cancellations made by the student. See cancellation policy below.
Availability
I teach on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with start times typically falling between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m.
I plan to take time off for:
US federal holidays,
the week of Thanksgiving,
and the weeks of Christmas and New Years Day.
Additional planned holidays TBA.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason, please give me as much advance notice as possible. We will attempt to reschedule the lesson before considering credit.
More than two weeks’ notice
When rescheduling a lesson with more than two weeks’ notice,
a rescheduled lesson or credit is guaranteed, AND
the rescheduled lesson must occur no later than four weeks after the last scheduled lesson date in the current series.
If a mutually agreeable reschedule cannot be found, the value of the lesson will be credited pro rata to your account.
Less than two weeks’ notice
When rescheduling a lesson with less than two weeks’ notice,
a rescheduled lesson or credit is not guaranteed, AND
the rescheduled lesson must occur no later than two weeks after the cancelled lesson date.
If a mutually agreeable reschedule cannot be found, the value of the lesson is forfeited.
Cancellations by teacher
When rescheduling a lesson that was cancelled by me,
a reschedule, credit, or refund is guaranteed, AND
the rescheduled lesson must occur no later than four weeks after the last scheduled lesson date in the current series.
If a mutually agreeable reschedule cannot be found, the value of the lesson will be credited pro rata to your account. Please specify if you would prefer a refund instead of a credit.
Group (family) discounts
When enrolling multiple students, a separate series of lessons must be booked for each student. Invoices for multiple students (or for additional students if one series has already been booked) will be discounted 10%.
Discounts will not be applied retroactively.
Prepaid lessons are not transferable.
Trial lessons for new students
I offer an introductory trial rate for new students. If you are interesting in scheduling a trial lesson, please include in your email:
Student’s name and pronouns (and DOB if under 18)
Level of experience
Desired lesson duration
Preferred and alternate time slots (day of week and start time)
Musical goals and interests
Phone number
I will reply with an invoice confirming the date and time of the trial lesson. Payment is due on receipt. See cancellation policy above. The trial rate may only be used once per student.

I am not an employee of Piedmont Piano Company. I pay rental fees to Piedmont Piano Company in exchange for access to their studios and equipment. As such, my availability is subject to the studios’ availability. When making scheduling requests, please allow time for me to coordinate with the studio manager.
